Have started using OPK and BBT this cycle (currently on cd16 and last cycle was 29 days, previous cycle was 23 days) but still havent had a positive OPK result (clear blue pink tests) which i check first thing in the morning as the pack tells you to.BBT is more "accurate" in that it is the only of the two that will actually confirm that you've ovulated. Unfortunately, it only tells you after the fact. It is possible to get a +OPK and not ovulate, which is why OPKs are not always accurate. In order to "prove" ovulation yes a rise in temps is needed but my OBGyn seems to think that the opks tests are the best standard for tracking ovulation. Also keep track of cervical mucus, that helps too. Every cycle I have been able to measure the LH surge, and also the temp increase when I have ovulated and drop in BBT when AF is arriving.
